Garbely presents two more volumes featuring Conrail Rainbow Years

Garbely Publishing delivers its second in a series of titles covering Conrail’s first years of operations (1976–1980) with the release of Conrail Rainbow Years Volume 2 by Rudy Garbely.

Selecting from the publisher’s collection of Conrail images, this 88-page softcover book covers the railroad’s system from New York to Chicago with more than 140 color views. This early era of Conrail operation included patched motive power from the many roads incorporated into the railroad at its 1976 start and there are many leased and foreign power represented across the pages of this book.

Frank Garon presents a third volume in this series titled Conrail Railbow Years: Raritan Valley Line and North Jersey Coast Line Commuter Operations. This volume spans Conrail operations from its inception in 1976 through 1982 with a focus on contracted commuter service in New Jersey.

In addition to heritage-painted equipment, you’ll find New Jersey Department of Transportation power and others represented in this 90-page full-color release.

Both volumes list for $45 and are available now from the publisher and from book and hobby dealers. Visit Garbely Publishing to see additional Conrail titles, including the first volume in this series, a Conrail caboose guide, and books on other railroads in the Northeast U.S.
