First Look: Pullman-Standard dining car from Rapido Trains in HO Scale

HO ScaleA new addition to the Super Continental Line from Rapido Trains will present a model of Pullman-Standard’s lightweight dining car. The model will include 48 seat, 40 seat, or diner-lounge interior arrangement with tables showing full place setting details. The interior will include separate chairs, tables, and kitchen details.

How’s this for a new lever of interior detail! Place settings will be included on individually molded tables with separately applied seating details, along with kitchen interior features and more on this coming HO-scale Rapido Trains dining car model.

The assembled dining car model will come with full underbody features and highly detailed 41-BNO-11 or 41-N-11 trucks with in-line brake shoes. Rapido’s “Easy-Peasy” lighting will provide interior illumination with flicker-free light thanks to a provided capacitor in the car’s design. The lighting will be con-trolled by a provided magnetic wand.

The ends of this dining car will include working diaphragms with etched-metal gates and the car sides and roof, as well as ends will come with factory-installed grab irons. The model will come with Macdonald-Cartier couplers with long-shank couplers provided in the box for use in operation around 18-inch radius curves.

Rapido Trains prides itself on a fully detailed model from roof the down and this coming HO-scale dining car release will come with a wealth of accurate details on its underframe. The model will include body-mounted Macdonald Cartier metal knuckle couplers. You will also receive long shank replacement couplers for installation, should you desire to operate this model around tight-radius curves.

The coming U.S. road names will include Amtrak (Phase I), Baltimore & Ohio, Chicago & North Western, Grand Trunk Western (1954 and 1961 liveries), Great Northern (Empire Builder), Illinois Central, the Milwaukee Road (Hiawatha and Armour Yellow schemes), Missouri Pacific (Eagle and Jenks Blue schemes), New York Central, Norfolk & Western (maroon), Northern Pacific (tow-tone Loewy scheme), Pennsylvania Railroad (Tuscan Red), Southern Pacific (silver with red band), and Union Pacific. The coming Canadian road names will include Canadian National (green 1954 and “wet noodle” 1961 schemes), Ontario Northland, and VIA Rail Canada. Rapido will offer a limited number of undecorated dining car models and all announced road names will be provided multiple road numbers.
