ScaleTrains plans a summer delivery for its all-new General Electric Tier 4-version GEVO diesel. The new models will be available in HO-scale in Rivet Counter and Operator editions. Officially licensed by GE, ScaleTrains will present this latest look for the diesel builder’s popular six-axle GEVO. A main spotting feature for these brand new diesels is the raised section on the center of the unit’s long hood.
The premium Rivet Counter release will provide railroad and road number specific attributes including one of three engine cab rooflines, high-or-low headlight placement, operating ditch lights, accurate antenna and PTC arrays, and one of two correct truck sideframes depending on release. ScaleTrains will present seven road names with a dozen variations for this initial batch of Rivet Counter Tier 4 GEVOs. Coming for the first production of Rivet Counter Tier 4 GEVO diesels, ScaleTrains will provide BNSF, Canadian National, CSX, GE Demonstrator, Norfolk Southern, and Union Pacific models. You’ll be able to buy this new Tier 4 GEVO in a standard DC version, which will include a 21-pin socket for Digital Command Control decoder installation, for $149.99 (MSRP: $199.99). Factory-equipped with ESU-LokSound Select 4.0 decoder with “Full Throttle” and dual-cube speakers Tier 4 GEVOs sell for $224.99.
ScaleTrains will also deliver an Operator-level Tier 4 GEVO diesel. That model, as press time, was available for pre-order at $99.99 (MSRP: $124.99). This new Operator Tier 4 GEVO will include a common design configuration for the announced group of six roads. All these models will come with angled engine exhaust cab, walkway tread, non-operating ditch lights, snowplow, sunshades, LED-illuminated headlights and number boards. ScaleTrains will release a separately sold upgrade detail kit with numerous parts for the modeler to install to enhance this new HO-scale Tier 4 GEVO diesel. The Operator model’s drive will be the same high-quality drivetrain included in Rivet Counter releases. The coming collection of Operator Tier 4 GEVOs will present BNSF, Canadian National, CSX, GE Demonstrator, Norfolk Southern, and Union Pacific.
