Atlas will offer GP40 in HO, N, and O with Operation Lifesaver 50th Anniversary

In addition to Atlas’ gold with black Operation Lifesaver 50th Anniversary GP40, this release will include Port Harbor’s 8955 decorated in a special “Honoring 1st Responders” livery. For its HO- and N-scale GP40 offerings, Atlas will include ditch lights on select road names, including these two special livery models. These eye-catching paint schemes will be included in the first production of the company’s O-gauge GP40 model.

HO Scale N scale

O ScaleAtlas plans a second quarter 2022 delivery for Electro-Motive Division GP40 diesel locomotives in three scales.
The coming O-gauge GP40 will be a new addition (based on former MTH Trains tooling) to Atlas’ Premier line, while the returning HO and N offerings will reside in the manufacturer’s Master line.

Atlas’ 3-rail O-gauge GP40 will come equipped with Proto-Sound 3.0 DCS electronics. New for HO and N GP40s, Atlas will add ditch lights as a feature on select road names where appropriate. Releases in HO and N will come in Silver edition, standard DC with sound-ready mechanism that will include a factory-installed speaker. Gold edition models with Digital Command Control and sound will feature ESU-made electronics with LokSound audio.

Road names with multiple road numbers will include Canadian Pacific (red CP Rail livery), CSX (Bright Future and orange MOW schemes), Maine Central (blue with Guilford “G”), Missouri-Kansas-Texas (Whitman Green with yellow), Penn Central (two herald presentations), Rio Grande, Susquehanna, and Union Pacific. In this release, look for Port Harbor’s “Honoring 1st Responders” 8955, Santa Fe’s only GP40 2964 (HO and N only), and a special Operation Lifesaver 50th Anniversary release.
