A mid-April delivery from Micro-Trains adds a Great Northern 8-pack of 40-foot boxcars. The sliding door cars are based the road’s production of nearly 1,000 similar cars needed at the end of World War II and in the postwar period. The cars were dark green with black roof and orange sides and wore Great Northern’s “Rocky” herald with “See America First” and “Glacier National Park” lettering. The set carries a retail price of $219.95 and the cars come fully assembled with Micro-Trains knuckle couplers and friction-style truck sideframes.
