Rapido Trains is accepting reservations for a planned production of HO-scale FPA-2u/FPB-2u diesel locomotive models. Delivered in 1955 by Montreal Locomotive Works, Canadian National (CN) took two FPA-2 and two FPB-2 units in for modifications in 1958. The pairs (6758/6858 and 6759/6859) received a higher horsepower 251 prime mover (increasing them from 1,500 to 1,800 hp), larger fuel tanks, and additional revisions and returned to work as FPA-2u/FPB-2u units. The four units served CN and later VIA Rail Canada.

This model project is conditional from Rapido Trains and commencement of production will be based on response to this announcement. Reservations are being accepted now by Rapido Trains and its participating hobby dealers through September 15, 2021.
